This tactical RPG features turn-based combat with grid-based movement and unit classes. The story takes place in the Archanea continent, where Marth, the exiled prince of Altea, leads a rebellion against the corrupted King Hardin, who is under the influence of the revived dark sorcerer Gharnef and dark dragon Medeus. A new subplot introduces the Avatar, a customizable character who serves as Marth’s bodyguard and becomes known as the Hero of Shadow while protecting him from assassins sent by Gharnef.
