*Kuon* is a survival horror game where players alternate between two protagonists, Utsuki and Sakuya, navigating a haunted Kyoto mansion during the Heian Period. Core gameplay involves exploration, combat against undead enemies, and solving puzzles while uncovering the mystery of Doman’s forbidden Kuon ritual. The narrative revolves around Doman’s grotesque experiments to fuse corpses into a monstrous cocoon, culminating in a confrontation with the exorcist Abe no Seimei.
