Mega Man 8 is a 2D side-scrolling action-platform game where players control Mega Man, a robotic hero, to navigate through stages, defeat enemies, and collect power-ups. The game follows Mega Man as he investigates a meteor crash that leads him to confront his recurring nemesis, Dr. Wily, while uncovering the purpose of an alien robot discovered at the site. Set in a futuristic world with improved graphics and animated cutscenes, the game retains the series' core mechanics while introducing voice acting and full-motion videos.
