A fixed shooter video game released in 1980, *Phoenix* features outer space-themed gameplay similar to *Space Invaders*. Players control a ship to destroy waves of enemy aliens while facing mid-level boss encounters, a relatively new concept at the time. The game was developed in Japan, licensed by Amstar Electronics, and distributed in the U.S. by Centuri.
