Core gameplay revolves around a Taint System, where players gain abilities and traits by making choices that align with their character's personality, such as embracing vices like alcoholism or greed to unlock new strengths. The game features randomly generated levels, tactical combat focused on stamina and positioning, and a high difficulty level enforced by permadeath, with an optional stealth approach complementing combat-driven progression.
