This puzzle adventure game follows Toki Tori, a yellow chicken, who receives a telepathic call for help from five ancient frogs to stop a floating crystal threatening the land. The player explores and manipulates the environment using two new abilities, replacing the item-based mechanics of the original game. The game is set in a side-scrolling world with Metroidvania elements, where progression relies on observation and experimentation.
